The importance of coaches on a NBA team

nba_g_karl_268.jpg

The Denver Nuggets have come into the playoffs without their head coach George Karl. The importance of coaching is now seen through the Nuggets last 18 games when they went 10-8. Karl's absence is one of the main reasons the Nuggets are currently tied with the Utah Jazz in their series at 1-1.

Every team has a coach that best fits them an helps them thrive and win. For example the Suns last year had Terry Porter and missed the playoffs. But now with Alvin Gentry they finished the season with the third best record in the west and have become the running guns Phoenix Suns team of the past. The Nuggets were dominating most of the season by beating all of the good teams and that was because Karl in the first seat on the bench leading the team. For an assistant coach to suddenly make a jump to head coach is hard for the assistant coach and the team to adjust to.

If the Nuggets are going to get far in the playoffs Chauncey Billups is going to have to step of an be the on and off court voice of the Denver Nuggets because it seems as if Adrian Dantly voice isn't being heard
